THE BACKSTORY

About CAE40

The name CAE40 (pronounced 'kay-forty') is distinct, and is derived from my grandmother’s name, Carol Ann Eley. She was born on January 20, 1940 in Lansing, MI then later moved to Detroit.

The best part of growing up in Detroit was the rich tradition of music & style. The marriage of Southern charm with Midwest glitz was something that birthed my love of hospitality. From basement parties to casino glamour from the 60s-90, there are two things that have proven true throughout many lifetimes—the universal love of music with great cocktails and food. Living in Detroit there was not a lack of either.

My grandmother loved the sounds of Detroit’s Motown with a classic apple martini. What a better way to continue that tradition here in the Music City than here at CAE40. Paying homage to classics of R&B, hip hop, soul with creative craft cocktails.

I personally welcome you to the newest face of Nashville. Offering cocktails, music, and unique style—a piece of the soundtrack of my life.
